UDAYAPUR, Jan 8: A person was killed and motorcyclist was seriously injured when the tipper and the motorcycle collided head-on.
The accident took place at 5PM on Friday when a tipper (Sa 1 Kha 721) coming from Jaljale in Gaighat collided with a motorcycle (P2-01-003 Pa 8491) heading towards Jaljale. The deceased has been identified as Dilip Dulal.
Dulal, 31, hails from Triyuga Municipality-5, according to police. Motorcyclist Prabhu Narayan Chaudhary and Dulal were seriously injured in the accident. They were sent to Biratnagar for treatment. Dulal died at 9:00PM while undergoing treatment, according to police. Chaudhary is undergoing treatment and his health is improving.
Tipper driver Mekh Bahadur Raut, 36, of Lalpatta in Triyuga Municipality-6 has been taken under control and kept in police custody for further investigation. The body of the deceased is being autopsied and further investigation is currently underway, police said.
