BHAKTAPUR, Dec 16: Students' organizations affiliated to various political parties have demanded action against colleges that have been charging more than the fees prescribed by the Medical Education Commission.
Handing over a memorandum to Medical Education Commission Vice-Chairman Shri Krishna Giri on Thursday, the students demanded action against all private medical colleges including Manipal Medical College, CMC Medical College and Kist Medical College for charging more than the stipulated fee.
They have demanded the colleges to withdraw their decision to charge hefty fees for filling up the entrance examination form under medical education and fix the fees to help reach out to the poor and needy students.
Among those who submitted the memorandum are ANNISU, Nepal Student Union, ANNISU (Revolutionary), Socialist Student Union, Akhil Fifth, National Democratic Student Association Nepal and National Students’s Association.
