KATHMANDU, Oct 26: As Chief Minister Asta Laxmi Shakya is about to take a vote of confidence in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly meeting on Wednesday, all necessary preparations have been made for the voting, according to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.
Krishna Hari Khadka, Chief Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, said separate booths have been set up for the ruling and the opposition parties and necessary staff including officers have been deployed to conduct voting. As Chief Minister Shakya tabled a motion for a vote of confidence in the meeting on October 21, the members of the provincial assembly had expressed their views about the trust vote.
At present, there are a total of 109 members in the provincial assembly including 44 members of the ruling party, CPN-UML. Similarly, the Province Assembly has 23 members of the main opposition CPN (Maoist Center) and 22 members of the other opposition Nepali Congress, 13 members of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Party, three members of the Bibeksheel Sajha party, two members of the Nepal Workers Peasants Party and two members of the Rastriya Prajatantra party and one of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
