KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Ishwor Pokhrel, general secretary of the CPN-UML has indicated that the party’s Chairman KP Sharma Oli will remain as the leader of the party. Stating that national politics is highly polarized at present and that it’s time to strengthen the political conviction carried by the UML, he indicated that KP Sharma Oli will be retained as the UML chairman by the upcoming general convention of the party.

He also said that he has no intention of becoming the General Secretary for a third time.

Pokhrel said that the 10th General Convention of the party will be held in the last week of November which will elect the party’s new leaders.

He also warned the court of law not to practice politics. Pokhrel also expressed his concerns over the court not following the constitution. In addition, Pokhrel expressed the party’s commitment to always put pressure on the government to work in favor of the country and its people.
