Nepal records lowest death toll on Saturday since April

Nine people lost their lives to the virus

KATHMANDU, September 4: Nepal recorded nine deaths from COVID-19 on Saturday. With this, the total death tally from the deadly virus inside the country has reached 10,818, according to the latest information by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).  

Of 9,875 tests conducted on Saturday, 1,024 PCR and 244 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19. Likewise, 2,195 people recovered from the deadly virus on the same day. 

There are currently 31,823 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 29,658 are in home isolation, 2,168 in institutional isolation, 552 in ICUs and 172 on ventilators. 

Similarly, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 386 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Of them, 289 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, 44 in Bhaktapur and 53 in Lalitpur districts.
