KATHMANDU, August 27: The monsoon, which has been active for the past few days, is expected to weaken from Saturday. The effects of monsoon activity will be less as the low pressure line will move slightly down from tonight.

According to Meen Kumar Aryal, senior meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather is likely to improve gradually from the eastern part of Nepal from Saturday. “The monsoon is still intact. The clearing of the weather does not mean there will be no rain.  However, the continuous rain will be less as compared to the past few days,” he said.

There is a possibility of moderate as well as heavy rainfall in some places across the country. Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces are currently covered with clouds and these provinces are likely to witness moderate rain with thunders.

According to the latest data from the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley today is 19.3 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 26.5 degrees Celsius. Similarly, the minimum temperature of Jumla is 17.2 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature of Dhangadhi is 33.0 degrees Celsius.
