KATHMANDU, July 27: The meeting of Nepali Congress (NC) office bearers has started at the residence of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha.

The meeting is expected to settle the disputes seen in the distribution of party’s active memberships and discuss a new calendar of events of the party’s 14th general convention. The ward-level convention of the party should have taken place today as per the calendar of events announced earlier. This was, however, put on hold as sharp differences were seen in the party over the distribution of party’s active memberships.

A meeting of the party’s current and former office bearers held on Saturday had put off the ward-level convention stating that the dispute on active membership was yet to be settled. The meeting is expected to endorse the proposal to be submitted by the Task Force headed by Ramesh Lekhak to settle the active memberships distribution row.
