KATHMANDU, July 25: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that people from his own party had overthrown their government with the help of reactionaries. 

Former PM Oli expressed his views at a virtual conference of the first secretariat meeting of All Nepal Women’s Association.

“They have helped to overthrow the government by misleading our lawmakers with the help of the opposition,” Oli said. 

“We saw that the members of parliament were tricked into protesting against the president,” he added.

Oli said that the leaders of the party are still participating in the anti-UML coalition in the name of unity. “By the act of splitting our party by our own friends, regression has taken place,” he said. “It is better not to talk about the Maoists; they are under someone else's control,” he added.

He also said that there was a conspiracy within the UML members to sabotage the party, destroy it and prevent the party from garnering the majority votes.
