KATHMANDU, July 24: The Central Executive Committee of the Upendra Yadav-led faction of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) is currently underway in the party’s headquarters in Balkumari.

According to the party’s Central Executive Committee member of the party, Mohammad Istiyaq Rai said the meeting is expected to endorse its parliamentary party statute, form an election committee to hold the parliamentary party election and discuss other contemporary political issues including the participation of the party in the new government.

The meeting comes in the wake of the Mahantha Thakur-led faction of the JSP deciding to knock the doors of the Supreme Court against the decision of the Election Commission to grant authenticity of the party by verifying the signatures of the central executive committee members of the Yadav-led faction. The Yadav-led faction has majority members in the party’s 51-member central executive committee.
