KATHMANDU, July 24: With the decision to lift the ban on the movement of long-distance means of public transport by the District Administrative Office (DAO) of Kathmandu, the long-distance public buses have resumed their services from Saturday.
The Kathmandu DAO permitted the movement of long-distance public vehicles to make it easier for people attending the upcoming TU exams and the Public Service Commission exams.
The DAO issued a notice of Friday, requesting transport entrepreneurs to make arrangements for the operation of medium and long-distance vehicles.
In the notice, the Kathmandu DAO urged the transport industry to follow the safety guidelines while operating the vehicles to make it easy for students appearing for exams and other people using the service. In addition, the office also requested the vehicle owners to make it mandatory for the passengers to buy tickets from the ticket counter as well.
