KATHMANDU, May 23: Over 150 climbers successfully reached the summit of Mount Sagarmatha today.
According to the Department of Tourism, over 200 climbers are attempting the ascent as the weather has started improving in the region. An official at the department informed Republica that there is no crowd at the mountain given the number of people heading to the summit.
The DoT is monitoring the situation at the summit through a binocular from Everest Base Camp.
Similarly, seven people from ‘CAPF’s Everest Lhotse Expedition 2021’ team have scaled Mt Lhotse (8,516 meter). The team consists of three Indians and four Nepalis. According to Seven Summit Treks, the team made it to the top between 6:30AM and 9:30AM.
