62 people catch coronavirus in single village in Gorkha

GORKHA, April 30: As many as 62 people of a single village in Gorkha district have tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). 

Government officials said 62 people in Kyamuntar village in Gorkha’s Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality have been diagnosed with the COVID-19. 

According to Bheshraj Khanal, Chief of the Health Department at the Rural Municipality, as many as 33 people tested positive for the virus on Friday, while 29 others were diagnosed on Tuesday. Those found infected with the viral infection belong to three to 67 years of age. 

Those positive cases were detected through the 75 RT-PCR tests conducted by the rural municipality. 

Gorkha’s active case tally of COVID-19 currently stands at 104. 

The district has a total of 104 active cases of the disease as 43 other patients were detected in Gorkha and Aarughat municipalities. Palungtar Municipality and Gandaki Rural Municipality in the district have also reported a few active cases of the disease.
