KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Police have arrested 11 demonstrators while they were staging a sit-in, seeking justice for Gangamaya, in front of Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Sudnay morning.

The protesters including humanrights activist Charan Prasain who reached Baluwatar to take part in a campaign called ‘Save Gangamaya’ were arrested by the police.

Ganga Maya Adhikari has been staging indefinite hunger strike demanding action against the murderers of her son Krishna Prasad Adhikari.

Nanda Prasad, Gangamaya's husband, died on September 22, 2014, in the course of fast-unto-death. His last rites have not yet been performed.

Ganga Maya, who is still on hunger strike, says the family will not perform the last rites until they get justice.

The Maoists had killed Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Phujel village, Gorkha, at the height of their insurgency in 2004.
