Nepal’s first vlog challenge with a title cash prize of one million rupees and the ticket to world vlog challenge has announced a total of 11 finalists on Sunday at an event organized in Durbarmarg, Kathmandu.
These finalists were chosen by jury members Nischal Basnet, Sisan Baniya, Rohit Shakya and Milan Thapa. According to a press statement issued by Partynepal, out of 87 submissions from across the country, 27 were able to make it to the semifinal.
'World Vlog Challenge' likely to be broadcast from August
The press statement quoted the event coordinator Rahan Bajracharya from the organizer Partynepal, an event management company since 2003, saying, “Now the public voting will decide the winner. The finalists include popular vlogger Prajwol Thapa Magar known as Jholey to successful filmmaker in India Nishan Bhujel along with travel vloggers Neesha Rai, Roshan Maharjan, Ayushman Gharti Magar, Biswas Rai, Asutosh Barahi, Aatmiya Baral, Raytish Gainju, Sujan Gautam and Sameer Tamrakar.”
The organizers aim to create awareness about climate change and give a platform for the aspiring vloggers and creators to connect with national and international vloggers. The winner will get a chance to participate in the world vlog challenge, where vloggers and creators with millions of followers are invited from various countries for an all-expenses paid trip to the base camp of Mt. Everest.
These vloggers and creators will be making videos about the impact of climate change in the Himalayan glaciers.
