LAHAN, Dec 12: Life in Siraha has become difficult these days as the district is enduring a chilling cold resulting from a cold wave coupled with thick fog sweeping across the region with winter nearing its peak.

Temperature here has significantly plummeted due to the cold wave. People are confining themselves indoor to avoid the biting cold while health facilities facing an increasing pressure of patients suffering from cold-induced diseases such as asthma, common cold and pneumonia, doctors said. Making bonfire in public places has become a common sight to ward off the cold.

There is a sharp fall in the number of passengers traveling on public vehicles with the increasing cold, said public transport entrepreneurs. Some of them said that they have kept their vehicles in garage due to the falling number of passengers.

Likewise, government offices in the district are receiving a low number of service recipients these days. The sale of warm clothes has suddenly gone up. RSS
