Jha couple, missing for a month, found buried beneath the under-construction road

LAHAN, March 25: A couple who had gone missing some one month ago was found buried beneath the under-construction road some three kilometers away from their residence on Thursday afternoon.

Mortal remains of Musaphir Jha, 65 and his wife Geeta Devi Jha, 60, from Pipara Rural Municipality-5, Sahodba of Mahottari district were found buried beneath the under-construction road in Pipara-2 in the district.

According to DIG Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Province 2 Police Chief, the dead bodies of the Jha couple were found in a five-foot deep pit some three kilometers away from their house. Those responsible for killing the Jha couple are found to have put some amount of salt to make sure that the dead bodies would decompose quickly, according to DIG Singh. 

Their mortal remains were identified by their son on the basis of their clothes and other belongings.

Police arrested Ram Babu Yadav,52, from Pipara-5, his two sons -- Surendra Yadav, 26, and Rajendra Yadav – and Harendra Thakur, an Indian national a few days ago in connection with the incident. Police personnel were able to retrieve the remains of the dead bodies on the basis of the revelation made by the arrested persons in the course of the interrogation.
