GAUSHALA, Dec 9: With the winter season in full swing, various districts in southern plain including Mahottari, is witnessing the arrival of this year's cold wave and foggy conditions. 

The normal life has been affected with thick blanket of fog and bone-chilling wave. The usual hustle and bustle of locals in the market and villages has gone down as people have opted to stay indoors. 

The much-coveted sunlight has not touched down since Thursday here in the district while locals have looked to warm themselves up near bonfires. The cold wave has also affected people's cultivation as homeless beggars and poor people suffer the most in the streets. 

Until now, human casualties have not been reported due to cold-related factors, according to the District Administration Office and District Police Office, Mahottari. RSS
