KATHMANDU, Feb 27: One of two chairmen of the Dahal-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that there is no possibility left for the unity with the NCP faction led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Addressing a national gathering of teachers close to the faction in Jawalakhel of Lalitpur on Saturday, Chairman Nepal said that an alliance with the Oli-led faction to form a coalition government is simply not possible. “Instead, we’ll form a coalition government taking onboard all the political parties that took to the streets against the movement of Oli to dissolve the parliament on December 20, 2020,” he added.
Chairman Nepal said they still have a long way to go even as they won a legal battle against the dissolution of the parliament. “Our battle continues until Oli is ousted from power.”
Nepal insisted that Oli does not have any affection toward the erstwhile CPN-UML group. While criticising heavily the prime minister, he said Oli is just a leader of a faction named Madan Bhandari Foundation.
Chairman Nepal also said that it is difficult to make Oli mend his ways. “Bamdev jee [vice chairman of the party, Bamdev Gautam] is still making his futile efforts to correct him [Oli]. This is simply not going to happen,” he added.
