KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The Bagmati Province committee of the KP Sharma Oli-led faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has planned to hold a massive assembly on the Narayanhiti road on February 5 in the wake of the announcement of election after the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The committee said that the road at the southern gate of Narayanhiti Museum was chosen to avoid traffic congestion.

Committee secretary Khem Prasad Lohani said the NCP cadres and supporters from all 13 districts of Bagmati Province would attend the assembly.

The program is scheduled to be addressed by Prime Minister and NCP Chairman KP Sharma Oli and other leaders.

The party is holding the gathering with the slogan 'fresh people's mandate for political stability through prosperity' along with cultural pageants depicting national unity and musical presentations.

The musical presentations will emanate from various places including Maitighar Mandala, Tripureshwar, Jamal, Putalisadak, and Ghanta Ghar of Kathmandu Valley.

Similarly, rallies would be led by central members of the district general convention coordination committee, district chairman and secretary.

All 21 sister organizations of the party are to participate in the event along with their banners. Even a rally of 10,000 motorcycles will be held two days before the major event in the Kathmandu Valley.

Following the dissolution of the lower house by the government, the rival factions within NCP are seen focused on gathering and display of power against each other. (rss)
