KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Police on Thursday evening arrested five people with Rs 3.8 million illegal money and 24 units of Rs 2.2 million bank checks from New Road in Kathmandu.
The arrested have been identified as Nawaraj Rawat, 27, Sanjay Buda, 28, Gopal Raut, 30, of Humla district, Sanu Maya Tamang, 27, of Makwanpur district, and Bhimsen Bahadur Tamang, 27, of Sindhupalchowk district.
“The arrested were showing suspicious behavior, and during a security check, police found cash and checks from their possession,” said police.
Police have already sent the arrestees to the Department of Revenue Investigation in Pulchowk for further investigation into the charges against them.
