Nine more Nepalis living abroad succumbed to COVID-19 last week

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Nine more Nepali nationals succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in various countries in the past one week.

According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), four Nepali people in the United Kingdom (UK), three in Kuwait and one each in Portugal and Malaysia died of COVID-19 last week.

With this, the number of Nepalis dying of COVID-19 in foreign lands has reached 327. The death cases have been recorded in 20 different countries.

Likewise, COVID-19 has been detected in as many as 56,026 Nepali nationals living abroad, including 53,432 cases of recoveries.

New cases of COVID-19 among Nepali people were recorded in the UK, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Malaysia, Japan and some middle-east countries.
