KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding its central committee meeting at the party’s Central Office in Sanepa on Monday.
The NC, which was the main opposition party before dissolution of parliament, has been hosting meetings and a series of protest programs against the dissolution of the parliament.
The party has already staged nationwide protests against the dissolution of the lower house of parliament at all local units of the government and all election constituencies.
NC has been maintaining that it will participate in the midterm election if the apex court gives verdict in favor of house dissolution. With this view, NC has been staging protests and preparing for election for the same time.
Today’s meeting is scheduled to discuss the upcoming policies and plans of the NC regarding house dissolution and pre-announced midterm election.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the parliament and announced midterm elections for April 30 and May 10 on December 20, last year.
