KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Skipper of the Nepali National Cricket Team, Gyanendra Malla has said that Nepal will not be a test playing nation in the world of cricket unless the governing body of this sports in the country, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), starts functioning as it is supposed to.
Speaking at #2030, a premium show hosted by Republica, captain Malla focused on revitalizing the school level, district level and local level cricket for the overall development of the sport.
During the interview, he dismissed the speculations that the future of cricket will not be promising once the current team phases out. “The young players are really promising and committed.”
According to him, it’s not necessary that all the under-construction cricket stadiums should be of international level. “We just need places all across Nepal where young players can play and work on their skills”
