KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Student affiliated with the Nepal Student Union (NSU), one of the sister wings of the main opposition party Nepali Congress, staged a protest demonstration against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).
President Bidya Bhandari, at the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, dissolved the 275-member lower house on December 10, triggering the opposition parties and even the rival faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party to take to the streets against the ‘unconstitutional’ move.
The students, wearing black face masks and T-shirts, expressed their differences against House dissolution during their symbolic protest in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
