Westerly wind bringing rain, snowfall

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Some parts of the country are predicted to have light rainfall and snowfall with the weather change caused by the westerly wind on Sunday.

The westerly wind will cause snowfall in the upper mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Gandaki provinces.  Currently, there is partial to general weather change in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Gandaki, Lumbini and Bagmati provinces, while Provinces 1 and 2 have partial weather changes, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has recorded the minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley at 1.3 degree Celsius and maximum at 18.4 degree Celsius today. Similarly, Jumla recorded the lowest temperature at minus 6 and Biratnagar recorded the maximum temperature at 8.5 degree Celsius.
