KATHMANDU, Dec 28: As many 2.5 percent of the total diagnosed patients of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal are yet to recover from the disease. This equals to 6,427 patients across the country who are receiving treatment for the flu-like disease either being isolated at their homes or at institutional isolation centers.
A total of 250,581 patients have successfully gained recovery against the fatal disease which, however, claimed the lives of 1,832 patients in Nepal. Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 96.8 percent while the fatality rate is 0.70 percent.
As of Monday, Nepal has seen a total of 258,840 cases of the disease after the first infection was detected on January 23. A 33-year-old China-returnee student was first diagnosed with the viral disease in Nepal.
