COVID-19 recovery rate in Nepal stands at 90.9 percent
KATHMANDU, Nov 23: With 3,043 people getting over the coronavirus infection across the country in the past 24 hours, the COVID-19 recovery tally in Nepal has crossed the 200,000 mark.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), as many as 202,067 COVID-19 patients have so far gained recovery from the flu-like disease. The number accounts for 90.9 percent of the total confirmed cases in the country. As of Monday afternoon, 222,288 people were diagnosed with the disease including 1,980 cases detected in the past 24 hours.
The ministry’s data shows that the COVID-19 death tally advanced to 1,337 with 16 more deaths reported on Monday. Nepal reported the first death due to the viral infection on May 16.
There are currently 18,884 active cases of the disease across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley on Monday witnessed 1,007 new cases - 553 males and 454 females.
