Engineer at Belkotgadhi Municipality arrested on charge of corruption

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: An engineer at the Belkotgadhi Municipality Office has been arrested by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on the charge of taking bribes from a service seeker.

According to the anti-graft body, Parbat Poudel, employed at the municipality on contractual basis, has been arrested on the charge of taking bribes to provide construction completion certificate to a service seeker.

“Poudel had asked a hotel entrepreneur named Narayan Prasad Bhatta to take the bribe amount from a service seeker. Bhatta was arrested while receiving the bribe on Poudel’s behalf,” the anti-graft body said in a statement.

Both Poudel and Bhatta are in custody.
