KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Nepal recorded 3,309 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past one day, taking the country’s COVID-19 case tally to 182,923.
According to Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, 3,309 new cases of coronavirus were detected through 13,144 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests conducted at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 36,911 active cases of coronavirus across the country, the spokesperson said.
The Kathmandu Valley alone saw 1,878 new cases of coronavirus. According to Gautam, 1570 new cases in Kathmandu district, 119 new cases in Bhaktapur district and 189 new cases in Lalitpur district.
As many as 3,844 persons who had earlier tested positive for coronavirus have been discharged after recovery in the past one day. With this, the number of coronavirus patients discharged after recovery has climbed to 144,978.
