KATHMANDU, Nov 3: The Patan High Court on Tuesday issued an interim order not to arrest rapper Samir Ghising popularly known as ‘Vten’.

A single bench of Judge Nahakul Subedi issued an interim order in the favor of the rapper, barring police from arresting Vten.

After Nepal Police Headquarters directed its Cyber Bureau to arrest him for promoting vulgar language through his rap songs, Vten moved to the Patan High Court seeking court’s intervention to stop his arrest.

Following the release of Ghising’s new rap song, police had continuously received complaints against Vten for promoting vulgar language through his latest song - “PAARAA”.

The rap song, which was released on YouTube on October 24, has promoted offensive language, and used foul words against Nepal Police. The rapper has already deleted the song from YouTube.  

Although the song was deleted, it was already viewed more than a million times on YouTube, and was on the top of trending.

“The Nepal Police Headquarters has directed the Cyber Bureau to take action against rapper Vten for promoting offensive language through his new rap song PAARAA,” police had told Republica after directing Cyber Bureau to arrest Vten.

Police had arrested the rapper last year too for promoting obscene language through his song “Hami Yestai ta Honi Bro”.
