KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Police on Friday arrested a teenager from Nawalparasi on the charge of operating a Facebook group named  'Raper (read rapist) Association'.

The arrested has been identified as Nabin Basnet, 19, from Jhimruk Rural Municipality-7 of Pyuthan district who is currently living at Kawasoti Municipality-16 in Nawalparasi (East).

A team of police from the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (East), apprehended Basnet, acting on an arrest warrant issued by the Kathmandu District Court. He has been accused of encouraging rape, abusing women and posting abusive content through the group on social media.

A legal action will be taken against him as per the Electronic Transaction Act 2008, said the spokesperson for the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police.
