KHOTANG, May 6: As many as 10 persons were injured in a jeep accident that took place in Khotang district on Friday.

The jeep(Na Ja 3616) en route to Diktel, the district headquarters, from Katari of Udayapur met with an accident at Arkhaule in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality of Khotang district after its rear tires went off their place when it was running.

The injured have been identified as the driver Dipak Darji of Katari Municipality-10, Prithibiraj Rai of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-10, Tej Kumari Rai and Pashupati Rai of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-2, Nanda Kishor Rai and his wife Kaushila Rai of Itahari in Sunsari, Madan Gurung and his wife Pramila Gurung, his aunt Ganga Gurung of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-2 and Kamaljyoti Rai of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.

 Four of them-Prithibiraj, Nanda Kishor, Kaushila and Deepak-were rushed to Kathmandu for treatment.

The remaining six are receiving treatment at District Hospital in Diktel for treatment, according to DSP Nabin Kishor Pradhan of District Police Office in Khotang.

The hands of two of the injured were broken in the accident.

 The locals and the police personnel from Arkhaule Police Station had rescued the injured passengers.
