10 people, including former DIG and current sub-inspector, arrested on suspicion of killing wild boar

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: In Saptari, 10 people, including a former Deputy Inspector General of police and a current sub-inspector of police, have been arrested on suspicion of killing a wild boar.

The District Police Office in Saptari has detained them on the charge of killing a wild boar in the Koshi Palar area of Bharadaha Yogi Nayak, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-1.

On Wednesday night, police took 10 people, including former DIG Gyan Bikram Shah and current sub-inspector of police Sanjay Neupane, into custody along with weapons, according to police sources.

They were found by the police in a Scorpio vehicle, and a point 22 caliber rifle was also recovered from the vehicle.

After discovering the wild boar killed and placed in a tractor, the police took the former DIG and others into custody.

The police are investigating who owns the tractor.
