10 hurt in Rukum West bus mishap, 6 critically

RUKUM, June 22: A passenger bus met with an accident at Rukumkot, the district headquarters of Rukum East, this morning, leaving 10 people injured; six severely. 

According to the police, the accident involving the bus with the registration number Na 5 Kha 4012 en route to Tulsipur from Rukumkot occurred at Sisne Rural Municipality. 

The injured are Samundra Airee, 25, of Duduwa Rural Municipality, Banke; Dilip Kumar Pun, 30, of Libang-4, Rolpa; Deepak Devkota, 20, of Banfikot Rural Municipality, Rukum West; Ammar Thapa, 40, of Sisne of Rukum West and Putala Airee, 55, of the same locality. 

Others sustaining injuries in the accident are Sudha Kumari Sharma, 51, of Sisne of Rukum West; Narayan Gautam, 23, of the same locality; Ajit Airee, 30, of Duduwa-5, Banke, and two more who have not been identified yet, according to Police Inspector Diwakar Rijal. 

Among them, Samundra, Dilip, Ammar, Sudha Kumari and others two whose identities not confirmed yet are in critical condition and have been referred to Nepalgunj. 

Over-speed is the apparent cause of the accident. Police have arrested driver Chudamani BK of Tarigaun of Tulsipur, Dang and further investigations into the incident are going on. Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police worked together with the locals to rescue the injured. RSS
