1,818 patients recovered as five others died of COVID-19 in past 24 hours

Most deaths witnessed in Province 2  

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: With 1,818 recoveries reported from various isolation centers across the country in the past 24 hours, the total number of people gaining recovery from novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has climbed to 35,700 as of Thursday evening.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the recovery rate among COVID-10 patients in the country stands at 71 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of people dying of COVID-19 in Nepal has reached 317 as five more people succumbed to COVID-19 infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the COVID-19 data compiled by the MoHP, three patients ---two males and a female--- in Kathmandu district, one male patient each in Chitwan and Kapilvastu district died of COVID-19 in the past 24 years.

Province 2, which shares its southern border with India, has topped the tally with 108 fatalities followed by Bagmati and Province 5 that have so far reported 95, and 47 cases of deaths, respectively.  While Karnali Province has so far reported 5 cases of deaths, the number stands at 10 in Sudur Paschim Province. 

Of the 50,465 confirmed cases in the country, 0.63 percent have so far been claimed by of COVID-19. According to the MoHP, a total of 165 people are undergoing treatment at intensive care units across the country and  21 others have been undergoing treatment with ventilator support.
