1,614 more people test positive for COVID-19 on Thursday as Nepal carries out a total of 9,491 PCR tests

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: As many as 1,514 more people were diagnosed with novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal on Thursday.

Those cases were confirmed through 9,491 real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests carried out in the past one day. Nepal has so far conducted 1,700,000 PCR tests to confirm the COVID-19 infections.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 infections has advanced to 227,640. Of the total infected patients, 209,435 have so far gained recovery, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) which accounts for 92 percent of the total infections. Nepal reported the new 1,437 COVID-19 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection in the country hit 1,412 as 23 additional fatalities were confirmed in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley registered 785 new cases of the disease on Thursday.
