KATHMANDU, Nov 3: A total of 1.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines arrived from China on Wednesday. China has provided 1.6 million doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine to Nepal.
So far, China has donated a total of 3.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines whereas Nepal has procured 5.9 million doses under the COVAX cost sharing.
Meanwhile, Minister for Health and Population, Birodh Khatiwada has said that preparations are underway to bring in vaccines against COVID-19 for children under 12 years of age.
Minister Khatiwada said that vaccines for children under 12 are being tested in India and China and Nepal is also preparing to bring vaccines after successful testing.
