LAHAN, Jan 20: The Khadga Municipality of Saptari on Friday distributed blankets to cold wave victims and also arranged firewood in all wards to get protected from cold snaps.
Municipality Mayor Hemayu Haq on Friday distributed 1,523 pieces of blankets to cold wave survivors through concerned wards' chairpersons.
The municipality has arranged 1,000 pieces of blankets for the disadvantaged community from internal fund while Red Cross Society, District Disaster Relief Committee, Bible Society and Amnesty international had provided total 523 blankets.
Likewise, the municipality on Friday had arranged firewood for the disadvantaged community in all wards to get protected from biting cold.
According to the District Police Office, Saptari, the cold wave that has been continuously taking place for the past three weeks has so far claimed 19 lives. RSS
