1,041 COVID-19 patients recover in Nepal, 67 discharged in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU, June 15: Nepal has reported the recovery of 67 more COVID-19 patients in the last 24 hours.

According to Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam, the newly discharged patients include 60 males and seven other females.

A total of 24 males were discharged in the last 24 hours from COVID-19 designated hospital in Janakpur, while Patan Hospital in Lalitpur discharged four other patients including three females.

Similarly, COVID-19 Unified Command Hospital, Balambu reported the recovery of two female patients. Two other patients, who were undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital were also discharged after they tested negative for the COVID-19, according to Dr Gautam.

Six males and seventeen other males were discharged from Kalaiya Hospital, Bara and Sai Krishna Isolation Center, Saptari respectively. Likewise, twelve other patients—eleven males and one female—recovered from the COVID-19 infection at the Beljhundi, a Dang-based COVID-19 Designated Hospital.

With this, the total number of patients gaining recovery from COVID-19 has reached 1,041--- 937 males and 104 females.

As of Monday afternoon, Nepal has reported a total 6,211 cases of COVID-19 with 451 new cases, the highest single day spike since the country reported its first infection on January 24.
