Know MoreKATHMANDU, April 8: A woman has registered a complaint with the government authorities, accusing CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet of raping her.
According to the police, the woman lodged the complaint at the district attorney's office via post, alleging that Basnet had coerced her into sexual intercourse. Subsequently, the public prosecutor forwarded a report to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, instructing them to conduct an investigation.
Kathmandu Police stated that they have initiated a preliminary investigation following the complaint. The victim alleges that despite being in a relationship for several years, Basnet later raped her and compelled her to undergo an abortion.
