Know MoreKATHMANDU, Nov 19: Hosts Valley Public and Himalaya Health Care Academy (HHCA) claimed the girls’ and the boys’ titles respectively of the 11th Valley Public Cup Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Friday.
In the final played at the Valley Public’s court at Golfutar, Kathmandu, the hosts’ girl’s team recorded a comfortable 39-11 win over HHCA to win the title for the third time in a row.
Roshani Shrestha and Pratikshya Magar contributed equal 10 points for the winning team. Pratikshya was declared the ‘Most Valuable Player’ while her teammate Sushma Gautam won the ‘Best Three Pointer’ award. Mingma Sherpa of the runner up HHCA took home the highest scorer award.
In the boys’ event, HHCA eased past Gyan Niketan 55-23 riding on 19 points scored by Bishal Manandhar. Manandhar also won the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award. Samrat Bhumi of Gyan Niketan became the top scorer and Mingma Chhiring Sherpa of Mount Kailash won the ‘Best Three Pointer’ award.
