The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office made the arrests. The suspects include Bishal Hamal, 36, from Kailali Bhajani Rural Municipality-1, currently residing in Mahalaxmi Municipality-1, Lalitpur; Prashant Pandit, 31, from Chabahil, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7; and Shailesh Kumar Jha, 45, from Koiladi Rural Municipality-3, Saptari, residing in Tinkune, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.
Police investigations have uncovered that Hamal allegedly swindled two victims out of Rs 1.67 million by promising them jobs in America. Pandit took Rs 800,000 from a victim with the lure of employment in Australia, and Jha deceived another victim out of Rs 540,000 with a false job offer in the UK. The accused have been transferred to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
