The scope of engineering

The scope of engineering

Doctor and engineer are still considered the most prestigious careers in our society. And this might be the reason for the increase in the number of engineering students.

Hari Krishna Shrestha, Professor of Nepal Engineering College, Changu Narayan, stated that not just because it is considered as a prestigious profession, the subject has become famous among students citing its professional scope.

Shrestha, a founder teacher of the college believes that the number of students is increasing after the increase in numbers of development projects. “Not only civil engineers, has the demand created by development projects created income possibilities for this profession”

According to the data of Nepal Engineering College, more than 600 students attended the entrance exams in this year. The number of attendees was limited to only 400 in previous years. Similarly, engineering students are increasing all over the country.

Students, who have passed intermediate level in science, or three years diploma course, are eligible for admission in bachelors in engineering. Engineering courses are also available in different faculty including civil, civil and rural, architecture, electric, electrical and electronics, computer, electronics, and communication, among many more.

Ranjan Dahal, a computer engineering student says, he chose the subject because it was simpler to qualify for a foreign visa. “An engineering graduate can also earn good amount of money in Nepal,” he added.

According to the data of Nepal engineering council, 14 colleges of Tribhuvan University, 14 colleges of Pokhara University, 2 of Kathmandu University and 16 collages of Purbanchal University are providing engineering course across the country. These colleges produce more than 9,000 engineers every year.
