‘Rise from the Bottom’, season closure tonight
Rise from the Bottom' is a social initiative that has taken upon the unique challenge of providing a performing platform to up and coming musicians looking to leave their mark onto Nepal’s music fraternity.
The first edition of the event has completed three successful gigs. The first season of the gig is scheduled to conclude tonight at Corner Sekuwa, Shankamul. However, the organizers are looking to notch up the level up by organizing similar gigs, under the same label, at additional venues starting the second season. The first season that ran for a month featured artists like Bhusan Raj Bajracharya, Rachana Dahal, Buddha Moktan, Sarina Rai and Sunil Shakya, among many others.
The gig has been seeing a house-full attendance comprising music enthusiasts and friend of 'Rise from the Bottom' in a cozy ambiance. Member of the organizing committee, Bilabh Shrestha said, "Contemplating the lack of availability of performing stages, and instruments, especially for new musicians, we came up with the idea. Though the participating musicians don't get paid for the shows, they are exposed to the live music scene of Kathmandu."
