Know MoreKATHMANDU, May 12: Singer Ravi Oad is in police custody in connection with a case of marital rape.
He surrendered to the police at the District Police Office in Jhalari, Krishnapur Municipality of Kanchanpur. Umesh Joshi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, said that the district court has sent Oad into judicial custody for five days for investigation.
Oad’s wife filed a complaint of marital rape against him on April 2.
The police issued an arrest warrant against Oad after the district court’s ‘go-ahead’ for that earlier on the same day. However, he was not arrested as he was out of the country attending a music event.
