Know MoreKATHMANDU, May 9: A new faction led by Dr Mahendra Lawoti and Khagendra Makhim has split from the Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal (JSP-Nepal).
They have opted to remain neutral, separate from the factions of Upendra Yadav and Ashok Rai.
This neutral stance includes leaders from Limbuwan who had previously joined JSP.
The new faction also comprises members who had left CPN-UML under Ashok Rai's leadership.
Leaders Khagendra Makhim and Lawati, along with Saru Singhak, supported an independent candidate in the recent Ilam by-election.
The split in JSP resulted in 12 parliamentary seats dividing, with seven members aligning with Ashok Rai and five supporting Upendra Yadav.
