Nepathya enthralls Sydney

KATHMANDU

Big Top Auditorium of Sydney was thronged with more than 2,900 footfalls on Saturday. The crowd was gathered to witness the performance of famous band ‘Nepathya’.

According to a press statement issued by Nepa-laya on Sunday, tickets for the concert were distributed through ‘Online Ticketing’ system. “Though this kind of system is famous all around the globe, it is not common in Nepali music industry, noticing this Nepa-laya- event managing company of Nepathya decided to initiate online ticketing system,” statement reads.

“We made a new record through online ticketing. All tickets were sold out way before starting the concert. I always wanted to see Nepali program’s ticked being sold-out like this and it feels like my dream comes true,” says Kirankrishna Shrestha from Nepa-laya. “It was a huge risk for us to do online ticketing, for a big program like this, but ‘Nepali Touch’ Sydney concert organizer get ready for the risk and we can see the result,” he added.

This is the sixth performance of Nepthaya in Sydney. “Sydney is one of the favorite cities where I can see many lovely people,” said band’s front man Amrit Gurung. “I am happy to see this Nepali crowd attending the concert. When I was here for the first time around a decade ago, there was small participation.”

In the concert, Amrit was accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on Keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass guitars, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on Madal.

After Sydney Nepathya’s Australia tour will come to an end after performing at The Palms at Crown, Melbourne.
