Man-eater tiger dies in Sauraha

KATHMANDU, May 20: A man-eater tiger that killed two people in Manhari, Makawanpur, has died. The female tiger, which was brought to Sauraha after being rescued from Manhari, has died.  

According to the information officer of the Chitwan National Park (CNP), Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the tiger had been ill since Saturday and died on Sunday. The 10-year-old female tiger was kept in a cage in Sauraha. Rescued from Manhari last year with leg injuries, the 10-year-old tiger had been under medical care.

In the current fiscal year, a total of seven tigers have died in Chitwan. Nepal's tiger count stands at 355, with 128 in Chitwan according to a 2022 survey.
