Law Debates 2021 held virtually concluded

KATHMANDU
Law Debates 2021 co-organized by Debate Network Nepal (DNN) and Kathmandu School of Law (KSL) with IME Pay as Payment partner was concluded on July 4. The event was held online over Zoom and Discord and saw participation from 19 universities around the world.

According to a press statement released by DNN, prior to the event, DNN provided free training to over 400 students from around Nepal free of cost. There was also practice debates organized every Saturday for the month of June for debates to practice for the event.

The event had over 56 Debaters, four Chief Adjudicators, 15 Adjudicators and numerous observers. It saw participation from 12 nations making this a global event. DNN with help from it’s partners provided scholarships to nine individuals (Rs. 9,000) to access the event.

The event saw five preliminary rounds followed by an Open Final and a Nepal Final. The Open Final saw Rojaswi ( Kathmandu School of Law) including Ojaswi Chand and Rose Singh became the winners of Law Debates 2021. Rose Singh was the best speaker for Law Debates 2021 Finals.

The Opens Finals comprised of Yasei Shanyang (Tribhuwan Universities - Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University) including Avash Byanjankar and Savishra Kandel, The Dream Journey (National Law University, Jodhpur & National Law University, Delhi) including Kaartikay Agarwal and Raunak Rai Maini, LSE (The London School of Economics and Political Science - LSE) including Sunny Singh and Megha Chand.

Likewise, Cherry Blossom (Kathmandu School of Law - Ace Institute of Management) including Bijaya Karki and Akshita Gurung were the winners of Law Debates Nepal's Category. Akshita Gurung was the best speaker for Law Debates 2021 Nepal's Category.

The Nepal Finals comprised of Moo Points (Kathmandu School of Law) including Baibhav Raj Tiwari and Abinav Singh Thapa, Valor (Hrit Academy) including Anaisha Tiwari and Agrata Parajuli and Revisits (Kathmandu School of Law) including Ashish Poudyal and Rhishav Sapkota.
