Juggling with works

With the setting sun, his business of selling fruits in basket (Doko) by the Fewa lakeside was ending and he was off to his night work at Fishery Research Station. Dirga Narayan Poudel was born in Syangja. “I used to do farming and sell vegetables and study as well. I graduated with a major’s in Education. As teaching was financially challenging and I have a family to feed, I cannot take the profession full time. I then decided to join army but could not make it. I also studied Korean language in Kathmandu to go to Korea but I did not make it there as well. I tried Lok Sewa but it also did not work. After earthquake I got a job at Fishery Research Department. My work was to monitor and check nets," says Durga Narayan. "I think having a degree and working in different field is not a shame, as long as it earns you a living, every work takes the similar effort," adds Narayan.
